Khor Kalba is one of the most beautiful places in the UAE, and its mangrove centre is the perfect way to explore this amazing place.

Don’t believe me? Let me take you on a virtual tour of the site.

So, first you need to park and then take a buggy to cross the bridge. The centre is on the other side. This is what you see before you cross the bridge.

Here’s the bridge.

After you cross it, you get to the centre.

This is what it looks like outside the centre.

Here’s what you see when you step inside.

There are quite a few exhibits, many of which advise us to take care of our environment.

There is a small aquarium as well.

This is the wall of the Ladies prayer room.

There is a cafe as well.

However, the most important part of the centre is outside – where the hides and mangroves lie.

Before that though, there are some small turtle aquariums on the way.

There’s a nice sitting area close by as well.

Then you start walking to the hides.

Here’s a hide from a distance.

Here’s another hide.

Here’s what you see on the way to the next hide.

Here’s the hide.

They have some birds here. Interestingly enough, the architecture of this hide reminded me of Wasit Wetland Centre (which also belongs to Sharjah).

Then you head for the bridge which you need to cross to get to the mangrove forest. Here’s what you see on the way.

Here’s what you see whilst traversing the bridge.

Now, you’re in the mangrove forest and the following sights await you.

Remarkable isn’t it? The mangrove forest had more to offer but we were too tired to go any further as it was a bit hot at that time. Be sure to visit this place when the weather is cooler and at a suitable time of day.

It’s great for nature lovers as well as animal lovers (due to the aquariums). However, be prepared for a lot of walking. Still, it is definitely worth it.

If you would like a trip to Kalba (or any other place in the UAE) planned for you, I have a consultancy that does halal itinerary planning, so please leave a comment so we can connect (I will only connect with ladies).
