The Dubai Frame is basically just that – a frame. A huge, empty frame in the middle of a park.

If this was anywhere else, this idea wouldn’t work at all. But this is Dubai we’re talking about, so it works very well – because this is the land of all the interesting ideas that came true. So what we end up with is another architectural wonder in Dubai:

Beautiful, isn’t it?

The Frame itself is inside Zabeel Park. Here’s the entrance:

Here’s what the pool looks like from the top of the frame:

Here’s what the other side of the frame looks like from the top:

The Frame has a small exhibit of old Dubai and then a video (with loud music, unfortunately) showing what the future of Dubai may look like.

That’s not all though. The purpose of this frame is to be able to view old Dubai and new Dubai simultaneously.

So, here’s what old Dubai (Karama and those types of areas) looks like from the top of the frame:

It doesn’t resemble Dubai at all, does it?

And this is what new Dubai looks like – completely different:

Yes, this is the Dubai that we know.

So, the idea works perfectly well, as you can see. You get the shock of looking at old Dubai and the awe of looking at new Dubai at the same time.

The place overall is good but limited so it’s worth only a one time visit, to be honest – especially as the tickets are not cheap.
